
Vital-Signz is a privately-held C corporation owned
in majority by its founder, Richard Corwin. Richard Corwin, an Emmy Award winning Supervising Sound Editor -
Max Headroom, has been a leader in digital audio and its application
for TV and feature film post production for 20 years.
He started the Motion Picture Editors Guild training program for
DAW audio editing and developed software that bridged the tech transition
by translating film methods to digital workspaces.
Richard is an expert on workflow solutions. He developed this through
years of experience, as a producer and editor, directing lots of
content through the post production pipeline.
Richard started his career in commercials, industrial and educational
films.
Richard has Produced Saturday Morning Animation and Natural History
Documentaries.
He was at the forefront of Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures
as they transitioned to digital audio technology from film.
His body of work, well over 60 feature films and hundreds of hours
of television include Titanic, Star Trek, Tales
from the Crypt, Lion
King 2, Mission Impossible...
Richard is co-founder and Producer of Digital
Days, a showcase
of entertainment technologies. Their real world applications for
content creation and filmmaking, for the past 9 years.
He brought HD to Santa Barbara and created the theatrical experience
of the future by presenting in Digital Cinema off an Avica Server
in
a 5.1
Dolby Surround in 2003.
Digital Days festival build an audience and created live webcasts
with interactive chat 4 out of the last 5 years. The largest audience
was 142,000 page views with 200 participants in the chat room.
Digital Days served as the technology and educational arm of Santa
Barbara Film Festival for 6 years.
Richard is the Producer for Santa Barbara Caribbean Festival 6 years
running.
Richard has been on the advisory board for SBCC Soma and RSCCD Santa
Ana College Digital Media Center.
